Letter: A lack of compassion

Editor, Gazette-Journal: I was very upset to discover sad news about Ms. Carol Steele’s sudden termination in your newspaper. Thank you for covering this matter. I contacted one of the Board of Supervisors who voted for termination to learn more about the matter. I did not receive a response to my inquiry. I recognize democracy can be complicated. For a lack of more information, I must conclude the Board of Supervisors’ voting for termination made democracy, once again, unnecessarily complicated. Mr. Leming, Shannon Hanson, Nick Bonniville and chairman Ashley Chriscoe each voted to terminate a public servant who dedicated her life and career to Gloucester County and has done so with excellence. The termination demonstrates to me a lack of compassion and respect for Ms. Steele by the BOS. Also, the termination appears to further demonstrate to me by an abruptness that seemed cruel.
