This year, our five children decided that they would give us a long-wanted gift, an osprey pole and platform. They chose Virginia Marine Construction, Inc., to do the work.

I am happy to say that the platform was installed a few days ago and is now ready for occupancy. Joel Monastyrly, CEO of Virginia Marine Construction, Inc., and his crew delivered the pole and platform, despite a very low tide in our creek.

They began the installation in the late afternoon and completed it after dark. Two of our children were present and we all were cheering them on from the shore.

So far, we have seen osprey, and we think our regular summer visitors are here. We are hoping for a family in our backyard soon. Whatever happens, though, we will have the great pleasure of monitoring our osprey nest daily and cheering on any future occupants.

We all thank Joel, April Edwards, and all of the crew for a fun afternoon and perhaps new neighbors for many seasons.Jacque...
