Letter: A Good Samaritan

On Tuesday, Feb. 15, I got the surprise of my life. I went to Sports Clips Haircuts of Gloucester to get a haircut. It was my first time there, as my barber was sick. I was attending a funeral and needed a haircut.
Upon approaching the door, a young lady jumped up from her chair and opened the door for me, as I walk with a cane and carry a small oxygen bottle in the other hand. As I entered, she thanked me for my service to the country, as I was wearing a military ball cap and my coat had a big Army patch on the back.
I thanked her and sat down in front of her. She had a daughter about 3 years old and I asked how she was doing and spoke with her for a few minutes. I looked up and saw a young boy getting a haircut and asked her if that was her son, and what kind of haircut he was getting. In the meantime, another barber came out and called me back, so I went on and got my haircut.
