Letter: A godsend for caregivers

If you are a caregiver for your spouse or loved one in Gloucester, Mathews and Middlesex, there is a program that can give you much needed support. The Gloucester Adult Day Break Center is located on Fiddler’s Green Road. The facility is part of Bay Aging and is an absolute godsend for those of us who are caregivers 24/7. It is vitally important that caregivers have time to do all of the household jobs, but most of all to take care of themselves.

Day Break provides that opportunity. The clients are given breakfast and lunch and snacks. A caring staff involves them in a variety of interesting activities. It is open every week day from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. If you cannot or prefer not to provide transportation, Bay Transit will transport clients to the center and back home. The cost for the program is minimal.
