Letter: A feral cat problem

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

This is a short story of two and sometimes three cats and three caring neighbors, trying to decide what can be done. We are all owners of indoor cats and are taking care of two or three outdoor cats. Something more needs to be done.

There seems to be at least three or four spots in the county, which I’m aware of, where feral cats are being cared for. I’m asking what more can we do, and what help can we get?

One outdoor cat was injured recently by a pack of hunting dogs barreling through our neighborhood. She (or it) looks pitiful and all we’ve been able to do is feed it more on our porches. Maybe there is a real feral cat problem in Mathews County that needs something more done. Again, I ask … What?
