Letter: A favorite day for students and teachers

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

For the past 11 years, the sixth graders at Thomas Hunter Middle School have participated in a wonderful program that teaches through hands-on experiences about the important role that the Chesapeake Bay has played in the development of Mathews County.

This program, Chesapeake Bay Days, involves a large population of volunteers and is organized by Janet Burgess. The sixth grade team would like to take this opportunity to recognize the hard work and dedication to developing and implementing this program each year. Students and teachers look forward to CBD and it has become one of our favorite days of the school year.

We greatly appreciate all of the volunteers who dedicate their time and share their knowledge with our students.
