Letter: A day out for hospitalized veterans

On Sept. 30, hospitalized paralyzed veterans were transported from the VA in Richmond and the VA in Hampton to Gloucester Point Beach for a fun-filled day of fishing and good food.

I would like to thank the following individuals and companies for their support and generosity: The Wild Turkey Foundation, Dr. Joe Lombard for taking time from his busy practice to provide 100 crab balls, Damon & Company, Gloucester Chick-fil-A, and J&W Seafood of Deltaville. Members of the Middle Peninsula and Memory Lane classic car clubs for coming with their beautiful cars. Gloucester Parks and Recreation and the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries for the use of their parking lots. My family and friends who were a tremendous help.
