Editor, Gazette-Journal: The Mathews County Department of Social Services would like to recognize and thank many volunteers and donors for making Christmas extra special for so many families this year. Without the donations and contributions of the many individuals, churches, civic and community organizations, the Christmas Store would not be possible to assist the numerous families who benefit from receiving gifts to celebrate the season. We would like to recognize and thank the following groups and organizations that assisted with Christmas Store this year: Mathews High School Beta Club, Coast Guard Members from Milford Haven, American Legion Post 83, Mathews Lions Club, Mathews Ruritans, Mathews Maritime Museum, Boy Scout Troop 124, Hands Across Mathews and Mathews Rotary Club.
