Letter: A change of heart?

I am pleased to see that candidate for governor Winsome Earle-Sears has had a change of heart. She is now comfortable with, and willing to embrace, an openly gay man, John Reid, Republican candidate for Lt. Governor.
Reid has been a prominent conservative radio host and is in a monogamous relationship with another man.
Just a few months ago, Earle-Sears was adamantly opposed to same-sex marriage. When she signed a bill making marriage lawful regardless of sex, gender, or race, she took the highly unusual step of writing on the bill, “As the Lieutenant Governor, I recognize my Constitutional obligation to adhere to the procedure laid out in the Constitution of Virginia. However, I remain morally opposed to the contents of HB 174 as passed by the General Assembly.”
In May, Reid was the center of controversy when top party officials pressured him to resign over explicit pictures of men on social media. Reid denied he was connected to the photos and rightly refused...
