Editor, Gazette-Journal: Recently I bought a KIA Sportage Plug-In Hybrid. It can take a Level 1 or Level 2 charge at my house. A Level 2 charge takes about 2 hours; the Level 1 takes ~7 hours for a full charge. It gets the equivalent of 85 MPG around town for up to 34 miles, then kicks in to hybrid mode. I bought this as a commitment to my children and grandchildren so that our environment can be devoid of that much more fossil fuels. Much to my astonishment, I discovered that Gloucester doesn’t have any public accessed Level 3 (fast) chargers! That would take anywhere from 18-30 minutes for a full charge. So, I called Sherry Spring, our Director of Economic Development, to find out what’s going on. Sherry was extremely helpful and did some research on the current state of affairs, here in Gloucester County.
