Editor, Gazette-Journal:

While contemplating the deplorable state of affairs posed by the current president and his administration, a quote made by a business leader of years past comes to mind in summing up the nonsense emanating from the White House.

“Am I the only guy in this country who’s fed up with what’s happening? Where the hell is our outrage? We should be screaming bloody murder. We’ve got a gang of clueless bozos steering our ship of state right over a cliff …”

The foregoing quote is from “Where Have All The Leaders Gone?” a no-nonsense dissertation by author and former chief executive officer of the Chrysler Corporation Lee Iacocca addressing the state of government in Washington circa 2007. White Mr. Iacocca is no longer with us, his concerns and his summary remain valid.

The current dearth of leadership in this administration mirrors that expressed by Mr. Iacocca. “We’ve got a gang of bozos steering our ship of state right over a cliff …”
