Letter: Takes issue with letter policy

Editor, Gazette-Journal:
I submitted an opinion on June 26 regarding the Earth’s orbital influence on our climate (“Why is it so hot?” Readers Write). It was intended as information only and not a debate on climate. The very next issue, however, Mr. Helms wrote an insufficient rebuke. He conveniently left out the “end of the ice age,” 10K years ago, while referencing the level of CO2 “800,000”years ago and of course the beginning of the “new ice age” in the 1970s.
According to Mr. Helms, there will be no climate change as our orbit approaches the autumnal equinox. “Looking out the window” to see what your neighbors are wearing may be helpful.
My point has nothing to do with the climate but with the paper’s “one entry per month” policy. It’s impossible to debate a response printed one week later.
