Letter: She made a tremendous impact on me

I was deeply saddened to read of the passing of Susan Rose (July 20 obituary, Susan Lynn Rose). I only met her twice regarding my sewing request on June 26, followed by prompt pickup on June 29. I discovered her via a frantic online search resulting in finding her glowing reviews on Yelp. My request was urgent, as I am a volunteer On Board Courier for the National Marrow Donor Program/Be The Match.

I am privileged to pick up and deliver stem cells and bone marrow for leukemia patients worldwide. I had just returned from a trip from a donor center in Providence, Rhode Island, to the Fiona Stanley Hospital in Perth, Western Australia, where my carry bag strap was torn in travel. I needed this carry strap repaired as soon as possible, as I was about to do a quick turn mission from Riyadh, Saudia Arabia, to the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles.
