LEROY ‘LEE’ FREDERICK RUST JR.

Leroy “Lee” Frederick Rust Jr. of Saluda, was an amazing, strong, independent man who devoted his life to automotive work, dogs, and VDOT. He was born on March 12, 1949 to his late mother, Ruby Sears Rust, and his late father, Leroy Frederick Rust Sr. His love of his dogs was part of his legacy. You would always find him at his Lee Rust Automotive Workshop when he wasn’t working. He went to his heavenly home on Friday, April 26, 2024, surrounded by loving family and friends. He loved racing, from drag racing to NASCAR. His favorite shows were Cops, Survivor, and Judge Judy. Sisters, Flora Mise, June Holske, and Mary Moore, preceded him in death.

He left this earth leaving behind his beloved great-niece, aka his daughter by choice, Sissi Mise (James “Jes” Smith); best friend, Randy Crowley (Kelly); great friend, Mike Fitzpatrick (Clarrisa); great friend, Nathan “Nate” Albright; niece, Stephanie “Joy” Peters, and sister, Betty Kemp (Cliff). The family received friends at Hogg Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, from 1-1:45 p.m. The funeral service was in the chapel at 2 o’clock, conducted by Pastor Art Wolz, followed by interment at Salem Community Church, 11408 Salem Church Road, Gloucester, Va. 23061.
