LEON J. COOKE

A funeral service for Mr. Leon J. Cooke will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, May 1, 2015, in Bethel Baptist Church, Gloucester.

He was a native of Gloucester, member of Bethel Baptist Church where he served on the Trustee Board for many years and as drummer for the Music Ministry, member and drummer of the Gloucester-Mathews Male Chorus, U.S. Army veteran, and owner of L J Cooke Trucking.

He departed this life on Thursday, April 23, 2015.

He is survived by his wife, Muriel E. Cooke; daughters, Geraldine Cooke-Bordies and Barbara Huger, all of Gloucester; sister, Jacquelyn Coleman of Virginia Beach, Va.; six grandsons; four great-grandchildren, a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation on Thursday evening from 6:30-8 o’clock at Howard Funeral Home, Ark. Burial with military rites will be in the church cemetery.
