Chesapeake Bank employees volunteered as house painters last month, scraping and painting with members of the Fairfield Foundation at the Walter Reed Birthplace in Gloucester. Tom Karow, president of the Fairfield Foundation’s Board of Directors, said he just asked and they were happy to help. Lowe’s Home Improvement of Gloucester donated the paint. The bank employees also promised to return this month to give the structure a second coat. Karow presented a print from the painting “Evening at the Walter Reed Birthplace,” donated to the foundation last year by artist Robin Marshall, as a thank-you gift.
