LENA BROWN WOLFF

Lena Brown Wolff of Hayes, was called home from earthly labor to eternal life by God, surrounded by her devoted family as well as a host of compassionate friends, on Jan. 26, 2013.

She was retired from Civil Service, Fort Eustis, as a contract specialist. Lena along with Raymond Smith owned and operated Ocean 17 Restaurant for more than 35 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas L. Wolff; daughter, Pam Smith; parents, Lorrimer F. and Addie Brown; sisters, Peggy Oliver and Rosa Puckett; brother, Roy Brown.

Survivors include, her daughter, Melody Daniel and husband Steven; son-in-law, Michael Clark; grandsons, Derek and Tyler Daniel, and niece, Carolyn Ortiz.

Lena loved everyday life, working in her yard, traveling and going to church. The family would like to thank caregivers, Tammy Thompson and Karen Hogge, along with Riverside Walter Reed Hospice.

A graveside service, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Rodney Autry and the Rev. Richard Whiteheart, was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, at Gloucester Point Cemetery. The family received friends Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, from 7-8:30 p.m. at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point.
