LAWRENCE W. AMBROSE SR.

Lawrence W. Ambrose Sr., age 69, of Mathews, Va., passed away April 18, 2014 after a long illness.

He was the founder of Ambrose Disposal Service and was known for being a hard working and honest man. He was also a wonderful husband, father, and PaPa. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Iva Ray Sibley Ambrose, and his parents, Robert W. and Marie Ambrose.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou, and six children, Debbie (Barry), Anita (Chris), Lawrence Jr. (Vicki), Delores (Bill), Lisa (Wayne) and George (Kelly). He had 12 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren; a sister, Barbara Brown, and two brothers, Charles K. and Robert C. Ambrose; one niece; four nephews and one special nephew, Robert Earl, whom he was very close to.

The family received friends on Monday, April 21, 2014, from 6-9 p.m. at Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home, Mathews. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with entombment in Windsor Garden Mausoleum, Dutton, Va.
