A funeral for Lawrence E. Lee, 76, of Gloucester, was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19 in First Morning Star Baptist Church, Bena. He died Sept. 12, 2017.

He was a native of Gloucester County, member of First Morning Star Baptist Church, United States Air Force veteran, retiree of the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Hampton, and a 32nd Degree Mason in Berea Lodge No. 114 A.F. and A.M.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Erma Catherine Lee; daughters, Serita Lee of Hayes and Towanda Montague of Cobbs Creek; three brothers, Charlie Pernell Lee of Abbeville, Louisiana, Clarence P. Lee and John E. Lee of Gloucester; two sisters, Rose Lewis of Gloucester and Alberta Jackson of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Burial with military honors followed in the church cemetery.
