Last call for entries for Bay School show

The Bay School is making its last call for entries for its fifth annual Arts Speaks on the Bay Juried Show, which will run from May 6 to June 3 at the Art Speaks Gallery on Main Street, Mathews.

The show is open to all Virginia artists and includes both 2-D and 3-D media. The deadline for entries is Thursday, March 16.

In celebration of the show’s fifth anniversary, prizes will total $5,000, with a Best in Show prize of $1,000.

Juror and judge will be Jeffrey Allison, the Paul Mellon Collection Educator and Manager of Statewide Programs and Exhibitions at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. He will award cash prizes to the winning artists at the opening reception, which will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Saturday, May 6, in the gallery.

Selected artists will be notified of their acceptance by March 30. a release said. The Bay School has a courier service to deliver and return selected artwork throughout the state.
