Larry Moore to give free painting demos

Artist and 2021 Gloucetser Arts Festival Plein Air Judge Larry Moore will give free live painting demonstrations for realist and abstract painters next week as part of the Gloucester Arts Festival. One demonstration is at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 22, and one is at 6 p.m. on Thursday, June 24. Both will be held outside on the Gloucester Colonial Courthouse Circle. They are free and open to the public.

Currently a teacher and painter of abstracts, Moore has taught courses on the creative process for 30 years, said a release. In 2018, he wrote a workbook on the subject titled “Fishing for elephants: Insights and exercises to inspire authentic creativity.” He has won awards for his plein air paintings, and for decades he worked as a commercial illustrator, an advertising designer, and a graphic designer.

Folding chairs and light refreshments will be available. If it rains, the workshops will move indoors at Arts on Main, 6580 Main Street, Gloucester.
