Large crowd attends rally against ‘environmental extremism’

Speaking to a crowd of about 300 people Saturday afternoon, two speakers spent the better part of three hours attempting to debunk environmentalists’ claims about climate change and related issues, suggesting that those concerns have been either exaggerated or entirely fabricated as a ruse to tighten government control over people’s lives.

“Is Environmental Extremism Destroying Individual Property Rights?” was the title of the program held at the Lighthouse Worship Center in Ordinary.

Those looking for a pro and con debate on the question may have been disappointed, as speakers Marc Morano and Tom DeWeese spent much of their time trying to paint a picture of environmentalists, in concert with government officials, using scare tactics to advance a radical agenda designed to erode individual property rights and increase dependence on government services.
