Langley for Families donates $220,000 in first giving cycle

The Langley for Families Foundation, the charitable giving arm of Langley Federal Credit Union, awarded a total of $220,000 to 32 organizations in its first giving cycle of 2022.

Among local organizations receiving grants in this first round was $7,000 going to the Gloucester Housing Partnership, Inc. Awards of $10,000 each were made to the American Red Cross of Coastal Virginia, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Southeast Virginia and the Peninsula Metropolitan YMCA.

Grant awards focus on the foundation’s three core program areas—access to education, housing and human services, and health care. The foundation’s mission is to make a difference in the lives of families in all the communities Langley serves, with an emphasis on providing most basic needs to those most in need.

Funds are raised from the generosity of Langley FCU members, employees, partners, and the Hampton Roads community. Langley for Families Foundation hosts a monthly charitable cash raffle for a $20,000 prize. Tickets are only $20 and can be purchased at www.langleyforfamilies.org/raffle.

Langley for Families Foundation will host a total of three giving cycles in 2022, with the next deadline for application on Aug. 17.
