Motorists can expect brief delays tonight as Route 223 (Cricket Hill Road) traffic will be reduced to one lane Friday evening on the bridge over Milford Haven in Mathews County, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation. One travel lane will close from 10 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Saturday. Intermittent, brief traffic stops may be required between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. on Saturday. A flagging crew will direct motorists through the work zone. Bridge repairs will be underway. Crews will replace a damaged rod in the bridge’s movable swing span.
