The Lancaster Virginia Historical Society recently announced plans for its 2022 fundraising gala, “Relax at the River at Historic Pop Castle,” which will be held from 3-7 p.m. on Saturday, June 4.

Attendees will have the opportunity to explore and enjoy this privately owned property located on the Rappahannock River near White Stone.

“We invite guests to discover Pop Castle’s history from the early 1700s to today, tour the 1850s house and traditional outbuildings, stroll the beautiful tree-shaded grounds, play lawn games, bid on auction items, catch up with friends, and sip wine and savor hors d’oeuvres while taking in the fantastic river views,” LVHS executive director Karen Hart said.

Tickets to the gala are limited and must be purchased in advance by May 21 at www.LancasterVaHistory.org or by calling 804-462-7280. The cost is $100 per person. The event is the historical society’s major fundraiser for the 2021-2022 fiscal year.
