Lady Dukes win, GHS boys fall to Phantoms

Home forays with the Phoebus Phantoms proved to be feast or famine for Gloucester High School basketball on Friday, with the Lady Dukes claiming victory and the boys’ team falling by large margins.

For the Lady Dukes, three players scored in double figures in a game that saw Gloucester hold the Phantoms to 14 points in the first half. Kenna Keyes dropped 13 with Lauren Hall and Maria Lisi adding 12 and 10 respectively. 

With the score 28-14, Gloucester looked to be in good shape to secure its fourth win. Phoebus would up their scoring slightly in the second half but it was too little too late, as the Lady Dukes cruised to a 49-34 victory.

The boys would have no such luck against Phoebus, as the Dukes were shellacked by a talented Phantoms team, 100-26. They got no respite against Hampton at home on Tuesday night, as the Crabbers blew the doors off the gym with a 95-24 performance.
