Lady Dukes remain perfect at 6-0

The Gloucester High School varsity girls improved their softball record to 6-0 with a pair of wins in recent action.

The Dukes delivered a 20-run shutout to their hosts at Phoebus on Tuesday. Kayla Tobin (4-0) pitched a one-hitter while striking out 10. Jessica Hogge had three hits, including two doubles and two RBIs.

Kaleigh Arnett also had three hits with a double and two RBIs. Shelby Alto and Morgan Haywood each had two hits and two RBIs, with Haywood hitting a third inning, two-run home run over the left center-field fence. Alissa Upton also had two RBIs on the day.

On Monday, Haywood took the mound against visiting Phoebus and scattered six hits in the 11-1 win. Bethel took an early 1-0 lead in the first inning and held the Dukes hitless through three innings.
