Lady Dukes perfect heading into playoffs

The Gloucester High School varsity field hockey team closed the regular season with a 6-0 victory over visiting Hanover last Thursday. The Dukes posted a 16-0 record for the season and only gave up one goal across the 16-game schedule. 

Gloucester holds the number one seed going into the Region 5A Tournament. The Dukes are set to taken on a yet-to-be-determined opponent when they begin tourney play at 7 p.m. Friday at Powhatan Field at Old Dominion University.

In the win over Hanover, Hannah Hamay scored twice and Gloucester got goals from Channy Johnson, H.P. Johnson, Tally Vaughan and Cara O’Beirne.  ...
