Lady Dukes improve to 4-0

With a 37-0 win over visiting Heritage on Tuesday, the Gloucester High School varsity softball team improved to 4-0 on the season. The Dukes also beat Churchland and Woodside in recent action. 

Gloucester took advantage of 20 base on balls, six hit batters and 12 Heritage errors while disposing of the Hurricanes. Mackenzie Smith pitched a perfect game, striking out 13 of 15 batters she faced. Smith also contributed two hits in the win.

Bridget Motley went four-for-five with two home runs, a triple, and 10 RBIs. Motley’s second home run was a grand slam. Courtney Hall added two hits and five RBIs.

Andi Booker and Kylie Fisk each added a hit in the victory while Natalie Jimenez and Yasmeen Scesson both contributed an RBI. 

The Dukes defeated the Churchland Truckers, 10-0, in the cold drizzle at GHS Monday as Smith threw a one-hit shutout and Emma West had four RBIs, including a long three-run home run.
