Lady Dukes get second win

Gloucester High School varsity field hockey players notched their second win of the season last Thursday with a six-goal shutout at Woodside. The team is now 2-0.

Scoring for the Dukes were Cheyenne Hollandsworth, Carli Walke, Whitney Robins, Kessa Romero, Farren Winter and Elizabeth Thomas.

Scoring assists were provided by Megan May, Kerigan Winfrey, Romero, Robins, Thomas and Winter.

“We spread that one around pretty well,” GHS coach Mike Miller said of the number of different players involved in scoring against the Wolverines.  “We did a lot of good things but we still have a lot of things to work on. We’re not finishing in the circle so we’re giving up some scoring opportunities. The younger players are continuing to mesh well, and we still have that goal of improving with every game,” Miller said.
