Lady Dukes crush Bruins, 25-0

 

The Gloucester High School varsity softball team is at 11-3 overall and 1-1 in Conference 10 play after a pair of wins and a loss in recent action. 

The Dukes pounded the host Bethel Bruins, 25-0, on Tuesday and put 12 runs on the board in the first inning. Gloucester had nine hits and four walks in the inning to put the game away early.

Laura Tobin led the Dukes with three hits and Emma West contributed four RBIs. Bridget Motley, Kirsten Greene, Courtney Hall, Jackie Tobin and Autumn Burgess added two hits each. Greene and Kathryn Lester had three RBIs, with Greene batting a double, and Jessica Hogge, Tori Mielnick and Malaika Rilee each added two RBIs.

Greene (9-3) pitched three shutout innings for the win, allowing just one hit. Kayla Tobin pitched the final two innings to complete the shutout.
