Lady Dukes continue to dominate district

The Gloucester High School varsity field hockey team continued to roll through the Peninsula District schedule with three wins in recent action. While the Lady Dukes’ offense has gotten the scoring done, the solid defense has denied all of its district opponents a goal.

The Gloucester girls notched back to back 8-0 shutouts against Woodside and Hampton. Tori Harwood had a hat trick against the Crabbers at GHS on Tuesday and the Dukes got goals from Bri Greene, Courtnie Greene, Kayla Sadler, Hannah Wilburn and Cassidy Goodwin.

Goodwin also contributed four assists and Green had three in the win. Gloucester tallied 27 shots on goal while not allowing the Wolverines any chances. GHS head coach Mike Miller said his girls played good defense once again and the team did an excellent job of passing and controlling the ball.

 

Playing Hampton at CNU on Friday, Harwood and Sadler each had a pair of goals, and Maddie Hutson, Ashley Bohi, Greene and Goodwin also scored. Good...
