Lady Dukes blank Bruins, 5-0

The Gloucester High School varsity girls defeated visiting Bethel, 5-0, on April 18 to improve to 3-1 in Conference 10 standings.

Haley Hamilton scored first from outside the 18, slotting the ball past the keeper. Tori Johnson struck next, driving the ball toward the frame where it bounced off a Bethel defender and past the keeper to make it 2-0.

Lydia Hart scored off an assist from Cieara Berg and earned her second goal just before the end of the first half to make it 4-0 at the break.

Gloucester added just one second half goal when Brooke Cheatham found the net to complete the five-goal shutout. Dukes’ keeper Mackenzie Sullivan contributed seven saves to keep the Bruins off the scoreboard. ...
