Lady Dukes beat Phoebus in senior night game

The Gloucester High School varsity girls’ basketball team defeated Phoebus, 49-37, at Monday’s senior night game.
Leading Gloucester in its victory was Cori Morgan who scored an impressive 19 points for the Lady Dukes. Other scorers included Amari Marsh with nine points, Sydney Taylor with eight points, Rylie Williams and Joelle Forrest with four points each, Myasia Marsh with three points and Gabby Davison with two.

The Lady Dukes were not as successful at Friday’s home game, losing to Warwick, 66-26. Samantha Carlton scored six points for Gloucester, followed by Navaeh Najar who scored five, Myasia who scored four, Amari, Williams and Forrest who each scored three points apiece and Sydney Taylor who scored two points.

The Gloucester High School varsity boys’ basketball team lost against Phoebus, 72-32, Monday night at home.
Top scorers for Gloucester were Connor Brooks and Nathan Seiler who each scored nine points. Other scorers included Keith Hopkins with seven points, Bryce Monroe with three points and Alex Vanvranken and Brayden Hudgins with two points each.

The Dukes suffered a close loss against Warwick, 66-58, during Friday night’s home game.

Vanvranken was the top scorer for Gloucester with a total of 25 points. Other scorers for Gloucester included Monroe and Brooks with 11 points apiece, Dylan Deyoung with four points, William Turner with three points, and Josh Hook and Hudgins with two points each.
