Lady Dukes beat Atlee, Hampton to stay unbeaten

The Gloucester High School varsity field hockey team continued its winning ways this week, defeating Atlee and Hampton in another pair of shutouts.

With six games left in the regular season, the defending state champions have an undefeated record in their sights, but head coach Mike Miller cautioned the Lady Dukes against becoming overconfident.

“We can’t expect to just show up and have people roll over because that doesn’t happen and can get you knocked off really quickly,” the Gloucester head coach said.

The Lady Dukes certainly showed up this past week, however, beginning with a 6-0 defeat of Atlee on Friday. Gloucester previously faced and defeated the team in the opening round of the state playoffs last year.
