Lady Devils split volleyball games

The Mathews High School varsity volleyball team went 1-1 in a pair of away games, easily defeating Charles City last Thursday in a varsity-only match and falling in straight sets on Tuesday against King William.

Tonight, the Lady Devils will return to the MHS gym to host West Point in the team’s annual Dig Pink game to raise money and awareness in the fight against breast cancer. Fans are encouraged to dress out in pink and show their support for loved ones who are either fighting or have fought breast cancer. On Tuesday, the Mathews girls travel to Middlesex to face the Chargers.

King William

Mathews struggled against King William last Thursday, losing by scores of 25-9, 25-22 and 25-19. While the Lady Devils may have lost, they aren’t giving up as the season is not yet over. They will continue to work on technique and maintaining positive team dynamics as the season continues on.
