The undefeated Mathews High School varsity volleyball team got three wins in seven days during a grueling week topping King William, Lafayette and West Point.

The junior varsity team was victorious over King William and West Point but lost to the 3A Rams of Lafayette. 

King William

Last Thursday, the varsity team defeated the Cavaliers, 25-13, 25-20 and 25-7. Sarah Brown led the team in aces with three; Mia Gillenwater with two, and Maddie Maggioncalda, Caroline Crittenden, Madisyn Jackson and Aleya McCurry contributing one each. Maggioncalda led the team in digs with 17; Gillenwater following with 14; Crittenden with 8; S. Brown with seven; Shayla Wheeler with three; Nicole Brown and Hannah Robins each with two, and Emily West, M. Jackson, Lydia Hudgins, and Joice Small all with one.
