Lady Devils pick up another win

The Lady Devils traveled to Chesterfield County last Tuesday to beat the Lady Wolverines of Carver College and Career Academy in straight sets, 25-6, 25-5, 25-12.

This was the only contest for the varsity Blue Devils in the past week, as Hurricane Michael cancelled last Thursday’s volleyball game against Middlesex, and Monday night’s matchup against King and Queen ended in a forfeit victory.

The team had strong servers on the court at Carver with Hannah Robins leading the team in aces with seven; Maddie Maggioncalda with five; Katelynn Blake and Jordan Hunley each with four; Caroline Crittenden and Emily West with three; Victoria Bing, Aleya McCurry, and Lydia Hudgins with two apiece, and Mia Gillenwater with a single ace.

McCurry led the team in assists with seven and Robins followed with four. Nicole Brown and Hunley led the team in kills with three apiece; Maggioncalda with two; Bing, Crittenden, McCurry and Joice Small all contributed one kill. Blake and McCurry each...
