Lady Devils go 1-1 in volleyball

The Mathews High School varsity girls’ volleyball team faced off against a pair of Tidewater District foes this week, beating West Point for the second time this season on Monday night and falling to Middlesex on Tuesday. Following those games, the team’s record remains at .500, standing at 4-4 overall.

Tonight, Mathews will travel to Rappahannock to face the Raiders, while the JV and varsity squads will host Northumberland on Tuesday. The Lady Devils wind up the regular season later in the week with a home game against King William on Wednesday, March 31 and an away contest with King and Queen Central.

West Point

On Monday, the varsity Lady Devils traveled to West Point for an exciting rivalry match against the Pointers. The Lady Devils beat the Pointers for the second time this season in a 3-1 game, 25-21, 25-18, 25-27 and 25-11.
