The Lady Devils suffered a 42-30 loss last Thursday night at Middlesex in varsity basketball action. Kai McCann scored nine points and Taylor South added seven to lead the Mathews girls. Mariah Robinson, Hunter Thomas, Madison Owens, Maria Spadaccini, Savanna Wooten, and Kirsten Beatley all contributed to the final point total for the Devils.
JV Devils
The junior varsity Lady Devils, meanwhile, fared better against their Middlesex opponents last Thursday night, winning 37-30. Kenzie Tunstall led the team in scoring with a total of 11 points. Kate Respess also earned double figures with 10 points. Hallie Duncan and Yolanda Fells contributed eight points each.
Mathews is scheduled to host King and Queen tonight. The JV game will begin at 6, with the varsity contest starting immediately after. On Friday, the MHS girls will travel to Poquoson. ...
