The Mathews High School varsity softball team beat Northampton, 7-3, last Wednesday, June 9.

Joice Small hit a home run for the team and also had two RBIs. Morgan Crittenden and Kelsey Ryan also had two RBIs each and Aly Jackson had one.

Abbie Hudgins hit a triple for Mathews, Chelsea Armistead hit a double and Reese Brock, Crittenden, Jackson and Ryan hit one single each.

Emily West pitched all seven innings for Mathews.
