Lady Devils beat Chargers, 14-8

The Mathews High School varsity softball team picked up its third win of the season last Thursday against the Middlesex Chargers, 14-8.

The Lady Devils had a strong offensive outing, as a team batting .459, racking up 17 hits. Victoria Bing and Andie Schlosshan each went 3-for-5 to lead the onslaught. Hannah Robins went 2-for-4 while Abbie Hudgins and Raven Schlosshan each went 2-for-5. Caroline Crittenden, Ellie Armistead and Shayla Wheeler also collected hits.

Hudgins pitched first for Mathews and allowed one hit. Madisyn Jackson came on in relief in the third inning, allowed no hits and struck out three. Justice Parlett closed in the last inning and allowed four hits.
