Lacey Ann Horsley sentenced for her role in Mathews double homicide

Lacey Ann Horsley, 19, of Gloucester, was sentenced in Mathews Circuit Court last Wednesday for the role she played in the July 2025 murder of Mathews residents Chad Wayne Ashford and Audrey Elaine Hudgins for which Cardinal resident Carol Paul Cormier was convicted. Substitute Judge Michael McGinty sentenced Horsley to five years in prison on each of two counts of accessory after the fact to a homicide, suspending three years on each count, for a total time to serve of four years, with credit for the 14 months she has served since her arrest. She was also sentenced to 10 years for aiding in the arson of an occupied dwelling, with all 10 years suspended. Additionally, she will have to pay $13,361 in restitution to the Virginia Victims Fund to cover funeral costs for the deceased.
