The Krüger Brothers, a Wilkesboro, North Carolina-based band that pays tribute to America’s music, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the theater at Lancaster Elementary School, 191 School Road, Kilmarnock. Also performing will be the Soluna String Quartet. The show is hosted by the Rappahannock Foundation for the Arts.
Raised in Switzerland and inspired by artists as diverse as Doc Watson, Eric Clapton and Beethoven, the Krüger Brothers play music that epitomizes the spirit of edexploration that defines the American musical tradition, said a press release.
Banjo player Jens Krüger “challenges the boundaries of what you believe the instrument is capable of,” said a quote from the Banjo Newsletter in the release, adding, “His music is neither bluegrass nor old-time, but dips into both, along with classical, country, and his roots in European folk.”
