Krejcarek named Botetourt principal

The Gloucester County School Board approved Tammy Krejcarek of Yorktown as Botetourt Elementary School’s new principal, effective July 1, during its regular monthly meeting held April 14 at the T.C. Walker Education Center.

Krejcarek has over 32 years of experience in public education. Current Botetourt principal Felicia “Tish” Hudgins announced her own July 1 retirement in February.

The school board also appointed Karen Butler of Urbanna to a paraprofessional position at Abingdon Elementary School, effective March 11; Kim Owen to a substitute cafeteria worker position, effective March 18; Stephanie Altland to a substitute teaching position, effective March 19; Daniel Christie to a substitute teaching position, effective March 19; Teresa Walters to a substitute teaching position, effective March 19; and Loren Hatch to a substitute teaching position, effective March 30.

In approved appointments for the 2026-2027 school year, Madison Graham of Gloucester was appointed to a third grade teaching position at Bethel Elementary School; Tammy Rickman of Newport News was appointed to a special education teaching position at Gloucester High School; Angela Flowers of Newport News was appointed to a music teaching position at Petsworth Elementary School; Kayla Geller of Hampton was appointed to an elementary teaching position; Susan Rodenberg of Williamsburg was appointed to a sixth grade English Language Arts teaching position at Peasley Middle School; Jennifer Hart of Gloucester was appointed to a teacher apprentice position in special education at Peasley; Vivian Eccleston of Gloucester was appointed to a speech language pathologist position at Petsworth; and Carrie McDaniels was appointed to a computer resource teaching position at Bethel. All appointments are effective Aug. 10.

In contract reassignments, Shanna Merritt was reassigned from acting principal to principal at Page Middle School, effective April 1; Ade Brayboy was reassigned from acting principal to principal at GHS, effective April 1; and Bethany Stone was reassigned from a paraprofessional position at Botetourt to an elementary teaching position, effective Aug. 10.

In separations, Brandy Clapp resigned from an administrative association position at GHS, effective April 10; Tommy Cribb resigned from a bus driving position, effective April 10; Leroy Scatliffe resigned from a custodial position at Botetourt, effective May 15; Sarah Spradling resigned from an assistant cafeteria manager position at Page, effective June 5; Sharon Quigley resigned from a first grade teaching position at Abingdon, effective June 8; Mary Jones retired from a math teaching position at Page, effective July 1; and Barbara Owens retired from an assistant custodial foreman position at Achilles, effective July 1.
