Kraken splits doubleheader with Smithfield Select

The Baystars Kraken 12U baseball team split games with the Smithfield Select 12U on Sunday in Smithfield. The Kraken earned the win in the first game, 11-10, and lost the second game, 16-7.

In game one, the Kraken took the lead early and held on to it. Logan Mulrine led the offense batting in three runs off two hits. Jackson Koch recorded two RBIs. Conner Alcock pitched four innings allowing three runs and striking out three batters.

In game two, Smithfield took an early lead, 10-2. Kraken rallied to bring the game within three before the failing to keep up as the other team pulled away. Bradley Price had two RBIs off two hits and pitched nearly three innings in relief allowing only two runs while on the mound.

The Kraken will finish its season Sunday at the USSSA Game Day Last Pitch Tournament in Richmond.
