Versatile musician and songwriter Davy Knowles and his band will play at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Flat Iron Crossroads, 7709 Flat Iron Road, Gloucester. Praised by Peter Frampton as “the gunslinger guitarist of the 21st century,” and known as the first artist in history to perform live from mission control in Houston, Texas, to the International Space Station, Knowles and has been on the rise since he and the band Back Door Slam made their critically acclaimed album “Roll Away” in 2007. Knowles has supported and shared the stage with such acts as Jeff Beck, The Who, Joe Bonamassa, Kid Rock and Lynyrd Skynyrd, among others. In addition to several top-5 Billboard Blues charting albums, Knowles has made television appearances on Jimmy Kimmel Live and CBS Good Morning America, among others.
