Gloucester High School junior Jax Knott set a new school record with a time of 24.85 second in the 50 freestyle in the Group 5A State Swim Meet held last Thursday through Sunday at George Mason University, Fairfax.

Knott set the GHS record at 25 seconds even in the Group 5A South Regional but bettered that at the state meet. She finished 16th overall. She was also 14th overall in the 100 freestyle, reaching the finals in both events.

Knott set a GHS record in the 100 freestyle during the south regional with a time of 45.62. Her time was incorrectly reported in the Feb. 16 edition of the Gazette-Journal. 

Freshman Livvie Cohn also made the trip to the state meet and placed 23rd in the 200 freestyle and 19th in the 500 freestyle. ...
