Knitted items at Central UMC

Many knitted, crocheted blankets and yarn-stitched crayon boxes were on display during services at Central United Methodist Church in Mathews on Sunday, Sept. 12. Church members and others in the community create these pieces all year. Over 60 blankets, 250 hats and many crayon boxes will be donated to local organizations. Past recipients have included the Peninsula Cancer Institute, Three Rivers Healthy Families program, and the Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters. Members of Mathews Baptist Church also contributed.
