Knights take on Smithfield Packers

Gloucester faced Smithfield last Saturday as the Knights of the Gloucester Youth Football and Cheer League went against the Packers.

The Gloucester Mighty Mites could not overcome Smithfield, falling to the Packers, 32-7. Durrell Daisy led the offense with nine carries for 95 yards and scored the team’s lone touchdown. Other contributors on offense were Jaxon Willet, Cam Pluim, Tyrell Daisy, Caleb Beyer and Alijah Pluim.

The defense was led by Ethan Stokes who recorded six tackles and a fumble recovery. Other contributors on defense were Isaiah Davenport, Jake Coates, Lamar Frazier, Alijah Pluim, Willet and Daisy.

The Midgets’ team didn’t fare any better against the Packers, losing 26-0. The offense was led by quarterback Kayvion Wilson and running backs Kayden Lovett and Maverick Jimenez.
